Westchester Lutheran School offers a rich developmental readiness, play-based program with a weekly curriculum in a Christian environment.
Children develop through thought and language, as well as motor and social skills. Our program provides activities, care, and supervision designed to meet the developmental needs of 2 1/2 to 5-year-old children.
Children learn letters, numbers, color sorting, matching, and shape recognition. They are taught how to follow directions and take turns in simple games. Children are encouraged to share and problem solve by using their words. They sing Christian songs, listen to Bible stories, and learn respect for family, country, friends. Attributes of good character are introduced.
Art is introduced through easel painting, drawing, listening and singing music, dancing, playing with dough, and making paper mache crafts.
Children are placed in one of our classrooms according to their age.
The names of our groups are: Doves • Butterflies • Lambs • Fish
