Notre Dame Academy senior Ava Badii has earned the grand prize in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) essay contest, "Why I Do TARC."
In her essay, Ava reveals that although she was initially attracted by the promise of "flames and free food," her participation in TARC has yielded far more. Read Ava's essay and learn more about TARC here.
Donald Moe, WLS Alumni, son of John and Ellen Moe was married to Stephanie Lewis in October at the Tannenbaum Event Center in Reno, Nevada. It was a beautiful ceremony, with a mountain backdrop, surrounded by family and friends who were able to share in their devotion.
Westchester Lutheran wishes them a lifetime of happiness in their marriage to one another.
Kevin Lew is the son of Hayward and Teresa Lew, graduated from WLS 2002 and become a veterinarian in 2015. In June, Kevin was named intern of the year in Emergency Surgery and Medicine at VCA Emergency Animal Hospital in San Diego. Kevin was one of seven veterinarians selected nationwide for this program. Recently, Kevin accepted a position on the staff of veterinary hospital in San Diego.
Another special event in Kevin’s life is his marriage to Caroline Horton on October 29th in San Diego at the Martin Johnson House. Kevin’s best men will be John Parks, another Westchester Lutheran Alumni, who he met in the lambs group at Westchester Lutheran Preschool.
Caroline’s Maid of honor is Kevin’s sister, Jamie who also attended WLS. The three met while attending UC Berkeley.
