Junior-K1 Newsletter

             February 7 – 10, 2012

 

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

Conferences are being held before and after school this week. Please be on time. School will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. You will receive your child’s report card at this time.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, to expedite traffic be sure your child knows if they will be picked up for going to day care. There is no extra charge for day care during school hours.

 

Houghton Mifflin Curriculum:

This week we are learning about playing together to accomplish a big job. We are learning about teamwork.

We are working on the letter Rr, Our big book is “Raise the Roof.” The children will learn to discuss what is happening in the illustrations. We will emphasize rhyming words as we read a story. Our read-aloud is “The Three Little Pigs.”

Valentine’s Day Party:

·         Your child may bring their Valentines on Monday, the day before the valentine exchange. Remember to have your child write “to and from” on each valentine and the envelope.

·         Please keep candy and sweets to a minimum.

·         Our Valentine’s Day Party is this Tuesday, February 14 at 2:00 p.m. Thank you for your RSVP.

·         Thank you to parents who are providing refreshments for our class party. Please let Cindy know what you plan to bring.

·         Remember to wear red, pink and white to add to the festivities. Please, no uniforms please.
