Dear WLS families,

Fundraising is an important part of our campus life here at WLS because we are determine to provide our children with the best facilities, the best opportunities, and the best experiences possible. 

That doesn't mean that fundraising has to be tedious.  In fact, we like to refer to it as FUNdraising! we also do our best to design a variety of programs in the hopes that, through the year, there will be events which appeal to you and your family. We know is impossible to do everything; we urge you to find the activities that sound like the most fun and participate and those.

To help you plan your year, both from fundraising and a service hours prospective, we've put together the information below and the "Fundraising Brochure" which gives you an overview of the events this year.

If you have a fundraising idea that isn't represented in our lineup, we welcome your suggestions!

THE GROWING TREE
Throughout the year, you and your family have an opportunity to make a lasting contribution to WLS through the The Growing Tree.  This beautiful sculpture, on the west wall of the narthex, features engraveable pieces which you can personalize to commemorate special people and moments in your family's life.

 Sale begins  September - October
A Catalog of items for the holidays to give as gifts or to use to make the holiday season a little easier.  Catalog will be sent home with students. 
 

                           Golf Tournament -October  (Date & Time for 2009 TBA)

Come and join us for the 4th annual WLS family golf tournament.   Support our local community business and our school by joining us in a game of golf.  Held at Westchester Golf Course with dinner immediately following at the Knights of Columbus.  Dinner provided by a local restaurant and all families are welcome.  At the banquet there will be something for everyone.

          
Fall Fun Fair
Saturday, October (Date & Time for 2009 TBA)
Bring the family and enjoy a day of Teacher Treating, take home a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch, play games, ride a pony or have a home baked treat it is a day of fun for the entire family!
 

Tiles of Thanks
January 2009 (Date & Time for 2009 TBA)
Design a title using the form sent home and come on Sat. to transfer it to a tile.
 Join us in making tiles of thanks for our prayer garden. You may make it as a family or have your children design one. Tiles will be fired at Color Me Mine. If you are unable to make the event but would like to have a tile they may be created at the store. Come and be a part of WLCS history.

Used Uniform and Used Book Sale

Missing that sweatshirt? Had a growth spirt in the house? Come to the used Uniform and Used Book Sale. You can pick up those much needed pieces and a good read for a very reasonable price.

Teacher Appreciation Raffle
Purchase a ticket for your favorite teacher to win a chance at a wonderful prize! You may purchase for more than one special teacher or a bunch a chances for the same teacher. This is a secret raffle so don't let that special teacher know. When the lucky ticket is drawn that teacher will find out who the special student was that purchased their lucky ticket. Tickets will be drawn at chapel on the last day of Teacher Appreciation Week.

The return of the neighborhood classic! Our carnival will be back with fun entertainment for everyone.  Our biggest event of the year!!!  We plan all year for this event! Come and enjoy a day of fun for WLCS families and the community.  Rides, Games, Food, Hawaiian Raffle, and Silent Auction to name a few of the fun activities.  What a great way to bring the year to a close!

Islands

Spirit Week kicks off with Hawaiian Day and why not finish it off with dinner at Islands? This has always been one of our most popular nights for restaurant night. Islands will honor take-out and curbside as well as dining in. Can't you just smell the french fries?

Tony P's
March 30 - April 3, 2009
Every year Tony P's offers not only one night but an entire week of support for WLS. Every meal eaten with a Tony P's flyer will give 20% to WLS. We will still rally everyone to eat out Wednesday Night for the fellowship of seeing all of the families at Tony P's but if you cannot make it you have an entire week to dine out and show your support.

Tower Pizza
Every Wednesday in May.
Tower- May madness at Tower Pizza. Tower is a great local pizza restaurant with only 50 seats. It is for that reason that we are having May Madness. You can support WLS by placing a take out order on any Wednesday in May or you can dine in on the Wednesday assigned you your given grade. By breaking everyone up it lessens the wait for sit down dinning

Johnny Rockets

Come and enjoy burgers and shakes at Johnny Rockets. They will be serving WLS from 3pm-9pm and you can give 25%to WLS. Yum Yum Yum!
