Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrollment Information
Screening forms
are due by Tuesday, January 17th
Please print and fill out the screening form if you wish to have your child
participate in the screening. Return the form to the Preschool or Elementary
office as soon as possible as appointments fill up quickly. Westchester Lutheran
Preschool students are given priority in scheduling appointments and all others
will be scheduled based on the order we received your forms.

Information Session on Tuesday, Jan 10, at 7:00 p.m.
All parents interesting in enrolling children in Jr. Kindergarten or
Kindergarten are invited to attend our Parent Orientation meeting on Tuesday,
Jan 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Our Jr. Kindergarten and Kindergarten
teachers will be present to explain our program, answer questions, and give you
a tour of the classrooms. The screening process and application procedure
for admission to WLS will be explained in detail at this meeting.
Kindergarten students must be five years old by September 1st in order to be
accepted for testing and screened as developmentally ready for Kindergarten.
Jr. Kindergarten students must be five years old by December 1st. WLS offers
this program for those students who are academically ready but not ready for a
full day of our rigorous Kindergarten schedule.
Screening Appointments to be scheduled during the week of January 30th -
February 3rd
Screening for Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten will be done again this
year by representatives from Chancy and Bruce Educational Resources. The
screening will be done at the Pre-school during the regular morning hours (9:00a.m.
- 12:00noon) screening appointments will be scheduled during the week of
January 30th - February 3rd.
Parent Workshop
will be held on Wednesday, February 14th at 7:00 p.m.
Screening results will be given at a parent workshop on February 14, 2012 in the
church. The testing fee is due prior to testing and is non-refundable regardless
of test results. Enrollment to WLS is contingent upon school evaluation of test
results.
Each Kindergarten class has a full-time aide. Offers strong academics, Religious
Education, Hands on Science, Computer Literacy, Music, Library, Physical
Education and Health.
Extended Care and extra curriculum activities are available for all students.
Music, Yoga, Taekwondo, Science, and Drama are just a few. Dues and
Registration are required for all afterschool programs.
School Open House is Sunday, January 8, 2012 -make sure to come visit our
school, see the classrooms and meet the teachers.
