DATES

Monday – Parent-Teacher conferences begin this week. Students need to
make sure that they are on the yard in the morning until the bell
rings. Do not hang out outside the classroom.

Tuesday and Wednesday- School is out at 11:45 a.m. Parent-Teacher
Conferences are scheduled in the afternoon.
·
Tuesday, Feb.14th – Valentine’s
Day Party at 2:30 p.m. It is also
Red, White, and Pink Day. Bring your Valentines and your
Valentine Catcher (if you choose to make one) in the morning.
·
No School on Monday, Feb. 20 – President’s Day
THIS WEEK IN CLASS
Reading: The Cay by Theodore Taylor, Chapters 9-11.
Book Share: The third quarter book share is due Monday, March 26th.
Current Events:
Last week we learned how to read the
newspaper and checked out what kinds of articles could be found in
different sections of the paper. This week I will copy an article for
the class to read and I will teach how to find and summarize the facts
of the article. You will not need a newspaper article of your own
this week.
English: Verbs test on Tuesday
Writer’s Workshop: Revised copy of Harris Burdick story is due on
Wednesday.
Social Studies: Test on Friday. This test will be on Ch. 3, Lessons
1-5. Study notes, go over lesson review questions and chapter review.
Also study the explorer flashcards you made (dates do not need to be
memorized).
Science: Chapter 5, Lesson 3. The students did a great job constructing
water filters last week.
